It’s true: I have a bachelors in creative writing and studio art from Santa Fe University of Art and Design, and a masters in fiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts. I wrote my thesis on satire + humor, though I often write stories that aren’t funny at all. I’m currently working on a film project.
I’m the founder + director of Eye on Design, published by AIGA, the oldest and largest not-for-profit design organization in America. Here’s a picture of our brand + identity designer, Leta Sobierajski, modeling my work uniform:
Before all that, I co-founded food + design platform MOLD while working as a senior editor at Conde Nast (Details, RIP). I’ve held editor positions at Adobe, The Architect’s Newspaper, and The Sundance Channel; my writing has appeared in New York Magazine, Interview, Print, Frieze, Slate, The Paris Review’s The Daily, Art in America, Artforum, Departures, V Magazine, Cool Hunting, and Core77. I’ve also ghost-written for TED speakers (you think they write all that themselves?).
